Duration & Stage of the Course

The interior design course shall be of minimum duration of 1 ½ academic years. (four semesters of three months duration)

In addition full time six months or part time twelve months (including holidays) of practical training in any professional establishment or institute.

An interior designer must have a clear understanding and a level of expertise to be able to manage a distinctive project.

Intake & Migration

The intake of candidates at the first semester level shall not exceed a maximum of 40 in a class. If more than 40 candidates are admitted, separate classes shall be organized.

Course & Period of Studies:

The academy imparting instruction in interior may follow the courses and periods of studies as prescribed in syllabus. The academy shall as an integral part of interior design educational curriculum and as a part of teaching program, arrange for study tours, visits to places of interesting design and professional aspects, market survey to study advanced materials, technology and its rates, exhibition of academic work of students & materials.

Examinations & Qualifications of Examiners

The academy has an independent examining body shall conduct the examinations at the end of each semester.

The seasonal work shall as far as a jury panel of internal & external examiners assesses possible.

The weight age of marks for subject having both class work as well as examination marks not exceed the ratio of 50:50.

The passing percentage shall not be less than 50% in the internal & external. An examiner for any of the subject of examination shall have a minimum of 5 years teaching or professional experience in his/her field of studies.

Academy has well established placement cell to facilitate students to seek suitable placement

Eligibility

10th Pass (Aptitude test), 12th appeared - in any stream

Admission procedure

1First semester - as per merit .Merit list will be displayed on notice board of the academy.

2nd & 3rd semester - the examination will be held by academy and no candidate will be admitted to this examination unless he/she has

  • Completed the minimum amount of units in theory and studio practical as prescribed in syllabus
  • Attended at least ¾th of the total period of lectures in theory.
  • Submitted the required number of tutorials and assignments (seasonal work).

Standard of Passing

To pass the diploma examination the candidate must obtain 40% marks in theory & 50% marks in internal & external assignment separately as prescribed for each subject.

  • Those of the successful candidates who obtain 45% to 60% of the total marks in all heads of passing shall be placed in second class.
  • Those of the successful candidates who obtain 60% to 70% of the total marks in all heads of passing shall be placed in first class.
  • Those of the successful candidates who obtain 70% & above of the total marks in all heads of passing shall be placed in first class with distinction
